The livestock consists of sheep and horses. There is a long tradition for horsebreeding at Oddsstaðir, where Sigurður Oddur is born and raised. Guðbjörg is from Hvanneyri and her parents owned the famous mare Skeifa (2799) from Kirkjubær and breed horses descending from Skeifa.

Beside taking care of the livestock, travelling services have been a growing element in the business at the farm, and especially horse travelling has the greatest share. The goal is to provide quality service, where the tourists get to know the family, the horsebreeding and the daily undertaking at Oddsstaðir.
